- 4th of July traffic is kind so far. Woke up happy. Day is gorgeous. Tomorrow there will be fireworks, seafood, fat boats in bright harbors. #
- I can sing a dozen musicals front to back. I know the words to hundreds of albums. Dear brain, where are you keeping all of this stuff? #
- In Maine, I gather wayward odds & ends. Five pairs of black leather boots jumble on the floor, steel toe to platform heel. I pack them all. #
- Sit down to 4th of July lunch with boating friends. Puppy begs for lobster. Then thick clouds roll in, lightning cracks, we run for cover. #
- Hailstorm! #
- Sailboats venture out again. When the storm passes, pockets of snow dot the island. Snowballs in July? Dear Maine, I love you. #
- The fog has lifted. Around the harbor boats test their horns. A band plays, the moon comes out. The fireworks barge gears up. Night falls. #
- Wrapped in a sleeping bag on the bow, grinning and gleefully happy. Cue the decorative explosions. #
- Happy birthday, @maymaym. #
- We stop on a mooring at Cliff Island for sleep, salmon, fresh-baked bread, a hunt for yellow periwinkles. Home next. On the road tonight. #
- Pumping gas at a highway station. A sudden lightning storm comes from nowhere and knocks the power out! I get away from the gasoline, fast. #
- Dear world! I have a job! #
- Writing! Research! (Some marketing!) Venture capital! Landmark Ventures! (Will stop using exclamation points now!) Has wine. Celebration. #

- Scratch the no-sugar-drowned-in-skim. From now on, when possible, I am drinking my coffee with honey and soy milk. #FancyFood, you spoil me. #
- At sunset, flash thunderstorm drenched the streets. Afterward the sky was luminous, gilded pink. A good night full of new and old memories. #
- Full arch rainbow over Manhattan right now! #
- 7 am at the Javits on Sunday. The show opens in three hours. Building staff have a base next to my booth. They feed me donuts. #
- Four expresso companies within 30 feet of my booth. They’re all bribing me! The caffeine, it terrifys. #
- Curry, pesto, chocolate, lemonade, honey, salad and peaches for lunch. Meanwhile the Italian pavilion exhibitors keep bringing me cheese. #
- It’s scary late. I have work at 7am. But worth it: Room has paint! Sleeping in a room & bed that belong to me, for the 1st time in 3 months. #
- My uncle is attending the show. He comes to visit me, and gently deposits into my hands a truffle the size of an egg. #
- #FancyFood attendees can’t take food off the show floor. I feel bad for the security guards who stop the disappointed hordes at the door. #

- Traveling again: Providence, Boothbay Harbor, perhaps Vermont. Contemplative. Bus wanders through alternating marshlands and power stations. #
